Does he still have to pay the same amount of child support?

So my boyfriend pays a high rate of child support monthly... even when he is laid off.... He recently talked to her and she said she was taking the summer off to "hang," after she gets laid off. She is not going to take a job offer because she wants to sit on her all summer while living with her parents... Does the father still have to pay the high amount or can he take her back to court? Or maybe even check into getting more custody since she is happy with livin off her parents and the father? any help would be great!
