Could lack of interest in reading be a reason I don't do so well in High School?

Could the fact that I don't find reading interesting be screwing me over? Because last year (cles being 1 credit per course per semester) I lost 3 out of 12 credits- 2 being in World Lit and 1 being in American Government [[where we used a text book a lot]]. We had to read MacBeth, Lord Of The Flies, Frankenstein and a lot of poems and stuff and the only thing I remember grabbing my attention was Lord Of The Flies. I also remember last year I would try avoiding the text books as much as possible because I would try to listen more rather than read. This is my 4th year in HS but due to being short 5 credits I'm considered a Junior so I'm trying to figure out how I need to change as far as school and stuff and make the next 2 years I have in high school my most successful and get my GPA up as high as I can get it so once I'm out I have more options [[my GPA right now is 1.555]] and I signed up for AP Env. Science but I'm thinkin of just retakin the normal Env. Sci because I got a D+.
